Silke began traveling the world after completing her Bachelor in Social Studies (Pedagogy) in The Netherlands. While exploring South East Asia she got certified as Vinyasa Yoga Teacher in India, finished a Yin Yoga Teacher in Mexico and did an extra course on Kids Yoga.
In between travels she worked in (outdoor) child care facilities in The Netherlands, nannied in Australia, French Polynesia and many other places in the world. She loves the pure joy and natural authenticity children possess.
Experiencing each moment.. Fully
However, she has noticed that as children grow, they start to drift away from that deep connection to themselves and change their behaviour to fit in or feel seen.
She hopes to support children in their development with introducing non- violence, mindfulness and yoga. Silke aims to plant a little seeds in those little minds that will into grow dense jungles of wisdom an inter- connection.
Fun fact: Silke is pronounced as ‘Sil-kuh.’ In the Netherlands, names ending in ‘-uh’ are common, though this isn’t as typical in English-speaking countries. When she lived in Australia for a year, her favorite nanny family gave her the nickname ‘Silky,’ and she’s happily gone by ‘Silky’ ever since.”
